What We Do › Housing

quote

Housing
The basic needs of a human being are quite simple. We all seek food, shelter, clothing and, most importantly, stability in our lives.

The homeless and low income women and their children who come to the York Street Project are given the opportunity to regain their strength, as well as the dignity, respect, and self-confidence they need to begin their journey toward self-sufficiency.

St. Joseph's Home provides a homeless woman and her child(ren) with 18 months of supportive, communal living as she works to improve her life and attain permanent, affordable housing. More than just a shelter, St. Joseph's provides its families with ongoing social services from a team of professionals that include counseling, crisis intervention, family therapy, health education, parenting, and family budgeting.
